COVID-19 pandemic and the quality of couples’ sexual relationships

Aim: COVI-19 pandemic causes stress between individuals, and this can affect the quality of couples’ sexual relationships. This study aimed to examine women’s life during COVID-19 pandemic. Material Methods: prospective cross-sectional was conducted at May-June 2020. 235 sexually active women aged 18 51 years participated in study. The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) used sexuality from six different perspectives: desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, pain. Due quarantine restrictions, questionnaires were emailed participants. Results: participants’ age range 51, with an average 29.6 ± 6.08 years. total FSFI score a minimum 1 maximum 26.75 had 18.12 6.23. Since cut-off value for female dysfunction is 26.0, it be concluded that, on average, participants poor function intercourse previous four weeks lockdown. values significantly according woman (p-value = 0.003), man 0.005), months marriage 0.006). woman’s (Sig. 0.008), man’s 0.004), month 0.02) significant negative correlation score. Conclusion: showed that lockdown reduced sex quality. Our results also show older men are, lower their satisfaction will be, which may due higher risk elderly.
